Every situation is unique. My aim is to help individuals and organisations to find a solution that is legally sound and best serves their needs and long-term interests“, – Ramunė Guobaitė, Attorney-at-Law, Mediator, Doctor of Law.

About me

WELCOME.

If you are reading this, it is likely that you are currently seeking more than simply a legal answer.

For many people, it is important to understand their situation, be aware of the options available, and make a decision that is right for them.

This is where my work begins.

I advise individuals, organisations and businesses, and represent clients in negotiations, mediation and court proceedings. In every situation, I see the individual or organisation behind the legal matter — their objectives, responsibilities, values and circumstances.

I therefore begin by listening, and only then do we work together to identify the most appropriate solution.

In law, there is rarely only one way forward. My role is to help clients understand the options available, together with their respective advantages, risks and implications, so that decisions can be made responsibly, with clarity and confidence.“

My aim is to ensure that each client receives professional legal advice while feeling understood, fully informed and confident about the reasons behind the decisions taken at each stage of the process.

My experience as a Doctor of Law has further strengthened my ability to approach each matter systematically — to consider not only the legal issue itself, but also its wider context, the possible solutions and their long-term implications.

„It is important to understand your rights and choose the most appropriate legal course of action.”
– Dr Ramunė Guobaitė, Attorney-at-law
  • Over more than 25 years, I have built extensive experience through my service to the State, my academic career, and subsequently through my work as an Attorney-at-Law and Mediator.

  • I contributed to the preparations for Lithuania’s accession to the European Union, coordinated the harmonisation of Lithuanian labour law with European Union law, and contributed to legislative and public policy development.

  • A significant stage in my professional career was my work as part of the team of the President of the Republic of Lithuania, Dalia Grybauskaitė, where I was responsible for matters relating to employment, social policy and family law. This experience gave me first-hand insight into the processes of public administration and state governance.

  • My involvement in the “For a Safe Lithuania” initiative further broadened this perspective, giving me a deeper understanding of the challenges faced by people across different regions of Lithuania and confirmed my belief that sustainable solutions emerge through cooperation between central government, local authorities and civil society organisations.

  • Since 2019, I have practised as an Attorney-at-Law. I provide legal advice and represent clients primarily in the areas of employment law, family law and compensation for loss and damage.

    Employment Law

I advise and represent businesses operating in the regions, non-governmental organisations and senior managers, as well as employees throughout Lithuania.
    Family Law
My practice focuses primarily on matters concerning adoptive parents and guardians, family mediation and family disputes.
    Compensation for Loss and Damage
I represent clients who have suffered financial or non-pecuniary damage, with particular emphasis on cases concerning unlawful or disproportionate actions by public authorities.

  • In 2018, I was recognized by non-governmental organizations with the “Best Friend of the Child” nomination for my work in the field of child rights protection.

Main Areas of Practice

Employment Law

I provide employment law services to organisational leaders, businesses across the regions of Lithuania, and employees throughout the country.

I assist organisational leaders in resolving existing employment disputes and in managing employee dismissals lawfully and appropriately. I also help identify the underlying causes of workplace conflicts and, by improving work organisation, prevent further disputes while safeguarding the organisation’s reputation.

I use psychosocial risk prevention as a pragmatic instrument designed to protect and advance the best interests of the business.

I advise on employment relationships, working time arrangements, remuneration systems, collective bargaining and the management of various legal risks.

A sustainable organisation is built not only on rules, but also on long-term mutual trust. I therefore combine legal solutions with principles of human behaviour, effective communication and conflict management.

According to the client’s needs, I review existing internal policies and documents, prepare new ones, and, where necessary, represent clients in negotiations, including collective bargaining, and in employment disputes.

Family Law

Family law matters involve more than legal issues alone — the decisions made can have a lasting impact on children, parents and the wider family.

I provide legal advice and representation in matters concerning child adoption, including intercountry adoption, guardianship (child care), the determination of a child’s place of residence, contact arrangements, child maintenance, the exercise of parental responsibility, and other issues arising in family law.

I assist biological families, adoptive parents and guardians. In my practice, I address challenges arising during adoption and guardianship proceedings and seek solutions where families encounter actions by public authorities that infringe their rights.

Confidentiality and the protection of information relating to an adoption are not always adequately respected in Lithuania. I therefore represent clients where there are concerns regarding the lawfulness or proportionality of actions taken by public authorities, assist in protecting infringed rights and, where appropriate, pursue compensation for loss and damage.

Compensation for Loss and Damage

Not all forms of loss and damage are immediately apparent. Clients may suffer pecuniary and non-pecuniary loss — affecting their physical and emotional well-being, or causing harm to their dignity or reputation.

Such harm may also give rise to legal consequences.

I represent clients in claims for compensation where their rights have been infringed as a result of unlawful acts or omissions.

I have a particular focus on claims against the State, where loss and damage arise from unlawful or disproportionate acts or omissions by public authorities, public officials or civil servants.

In a state governed by the rule of law, every entity, including the State itself, must be accountable for its actions.

I believe that every individual who lawfully seeks to protect and enforce their rights also contributes to strengthening the rule of law.

- Mediator

When a dispute can be resolved without litigation

I am a qualified mediator listed in the Official List of Mediators of the Republic of Lithuania →

Not every dispute needs to be resolved in court. Where the parties are willing to engage in dialogue, mediation can help them reach a mutually acceptable solution, preserve time and financial resources, maintain professional or family relationships, and reduce emotional tension.

However, mediation is not appropriate or possible in every situation. In such circumstances, acting as an attorney-at-law, I advise and represent clients in negotiations, court proceedings and other legal processes, protecting and advancing their rights and legitimate interests.

In each case, we will consider together which course of action — mediation or legal representation — best serves your particular circumstances and the outcome you seek."

How the work with clients takes place

- Ramunė Guobaitė -
Attorney-at-Law, Mediator, Doctor of Law

Every situation is unique. That is why everything begins with a conversation — first and foremost, I want to listen to you and understand your individual circumstances, interests and objectives.

I will explain the legal options available to you, and we will choose together the course of action that best meets your needs.

Our work together will begin with a conversation and an assessment of your individual situation.

What you can expect when working with me:

01

First, I will listen to you.

I will look beyond the immediate problem and consider the wider context. I will assess the available legal solutions in light of all the circumstances that are relevant to you and that you entrust to me.

02

I will see the legal issue and you as an individual.

First, I want to understand your situation — it may involve aspects of your personal or family life, your professional circumstances, or your business. These areas of life are usually closely interconnected.

03

I will clearly set out the options available to you.

I will explain what steps you can take, the advantages and risks associated with different courses of action, and what you may expect from each option.

04

I will recommend a solution tailored specifically to you.

There is no single solution that is suitable for every situation in law. I will take into account your circumstances, values, priorities, interests and objectives.

05

I will professionally represent and defend your legitimate interests.

I will represent your interests in communications and negotiations with other parties, in legal proceedings and before the court.

06

I will act responsibly and in accordance with the professional and ethical standards of an attorney-at-Law.

Legal Advice remotely

  • I provide most legal consultations remotely.
  • This allows us to begin addressing your legal matter without delay, regardless of where you live or work.
  • For me, working remotely does not mean greater distance. On the contrary, it allows me to be more readily accessible, respond more promptly and devote more time to what matters most — your individual situation — while ensuring that you feel supported and secure throughout the process.
  • Where your situation requires, or you prefer, an in-person meeting, we will always seek the most appropriate arrangement.
  • Sometimes, a single consultation can help you gain a clearer understanding of the options available to you.
  • I prepare legal opinions, contracts and procedural documents, provide legal advice, and represent clients in negotiations, mediation and court proceedings.
